I’ve spent years around fitness, habits, productivity, and people trying to change something about their lives.

And if there’s one pattern I keep seeing, it’s this:

Most people don’t struggle because they’re lazy.  They struggle because they’re trying to do too much, too fast, in the wrong way.

Every year, we set big goals. We promise ourselves a “new version.”

We add pressure instead of structure. And when we fail at achieving those, we spend the entire year just reinforcing the same pattern. And then when things don’t stick, we assume something is wrong with us.

It usually isn’t.

The intent behind this cheatsheet is simple: to bring everything back to the basics. Just clear thinking around how habits actually work in real life - on busy days, low-energy days, imperfect days.

This isn’t meant to be read once and forgotten. It’s meant to be revisited, scribbled on, simplified, and adapted. You don’t need to apply everything here. In fact, you shouldn’t.

Pick one habit.

Approach this document with curiosity, not judgement. If something isn’t working, treat it as feedback, not failure.

If this helps you show up a little more consistently in 2026 or feel a little less hard on yourself while trying, then it’s done its job. The rest is just repetition.

Let’s start.

A QUICK HABIT CHECK-IN (QUESTIONNAIRE)

Answer these honestly. No judgement.

1. When I try to build a habit, I usually fail because:

– I forget

– I don’t feel motivated

– I don’t have time

– I start too big

– I fall off after missing once
